Apply
Look at the specific vacancy for the best way to apply.
Step 1: short phone check-in
Before we go into depth, we first call (30 minutes) to ask some basic questions. We will briefly discuss your wishes and test them against what we can offer. Of course, you can also ask questions yourself regarding matters that are important to you. Both still enthusiastic? Then we will schedule an extensive introduction.
Step 2: extensive introduction
We would like to get to know know everything about you. And that is mutual: you also get plenty of space to ask us questions. In particular, we will address three main questions:
- What do you find important in your next job and why?
- To what extent does your mentality match ours, and how does this show? In fact, we expect you to thoroughly investigate whether we are a good fit for you.
- Can you give us an indication of your level of knowledge? You may show code to support this.
We may also ask you to complete the 16Personalities test and share your results with us. There is no right or wrong; the test is purely meant to get an even better picture. Both still positive? Then we move on to the technical part.
Step 3: customized technical test
Depending on the previous assessment of your knowledge level, we create a short, tailor-made technical test. This is an assignment that you will work on for 1.5 to 2 hours. Halfway through we will check in on you, so that you can indicate how far you have come and what your thought process is. There is also plenty of room for questions. The most important thing is that you give us realistic insights into how you approach complex problems.
Step 4: offer
If we are enthusiastic, we will make you an offer by phone. You will then receive this offer by email so you can think about it.
Step 5: sign contract
We would like to invite you to our office to sign your contract. We'll make something fun out of this occasion.
Process location
We prefer doing steps 2 and 3 at our office. If that is not possible, we can switch to a video call.
Process lead time
This process can be quick, depending on your availability. The only thing that may take a little longer is the final offer. But we do even that in a maximum of 3 working days.
Response time to application
We respond quickly: no later than the working day after your application, but often earlier.
If we are not a match, we apply the principle 'the more effort you have put into the application, the more effort we make to give you feedback'. For example, if you do not speak Dutch, while this is specifically requested in a vacancy, you will not necessarily receive a response. However, if you write an extensive, tailor-made motivation for this role at Cyberfusion, you will receive an extensive response.
Response time during process
Once we've spoken at least by phone, we'll call you — whether or not we move forward — with feedback. We will do this within two working days. Except for step 4, which will take a maximum of three working days.
- Quality: we only launch something when it is of good quality. No concessions.
- Determination: we commit ourselves to challenges for as long as necessary. Sometimes we work longer to finish something.
- Reliability: we do what we say. Also in collaboration with colleagues.
- Clarity: we say what we do. And our expectations are clear.
You get as much freedom as you can handle; which is different for everyone. Hybrid working is possible if you do not necessarily have to be in the office. Prefer to work in the office every day? Go ahead. Sometimes work better at home? Then we are flexible. As long as goals agreed on are achieved.
You also have a say in what you will work on. Goals are determined in consultation. Have a good idea that is not yet on the roadmap, but does add value? Then we'll add it. The only thing that always comes first are incidents. But we assume that you understand that. Just like you understand that your work is never just fun and that sometimes things just have to be done first. More freedom simply means more responsibility. That brings us back to what we started with: you get as much freedom as you can handle.
Simple: we review all of each other's work.
All projects and to-do's are maintained in OpenProject and GitLab. We also update each other at least daily about what we are doing. We also set goals every week. That gives you something to hold on to. As the team grows, we will start working according to an agile methodology such as Scrum or Kanban.
At this point, the founder is your only direct colleague. In addition, we work with a flexible team of permanent programmers, but they work remotely on a different part of the platform. The intention is for our team to grow rapidly in the near future.
You can expect William to be a young and experienced mentor, but on a daily basis he sees you as an equal. He expects you to keep him sharp by critically examining his ideas, even if you are less experienced. He believes in that way of cooperation.
William is a technician by nature, but broadly oriented. He does everything with passion and always keeps the big picture in mind. He values that you do the same.
William gives you the freedom to do your own research, but he is there for you if really necessary.
Finally, his expectations are clear. That is the only way to offer someone freedom and the associated responsibility.
Dress however you want, as long as you appear professional. So you don't have to wear a suit and tie, but better leave a onesie at home.
We regularly eat out in Eindhoven city and celebrate our successes together with, for example, city trips. All ideas for more exuberant team outings are welcome.
- If you need a large group of colleagues, now is not the time yet. Keep an eye on us, though, because our team will grow.
- If you like to be taken by the hand a lot, then Cyberfusion is not the place for you. Obviously you may ask questions, but you are expected to be able to work mostly independently.
- Have difficulty structuring your work? We are happy to help you on your way. But if you continue to have difficulty with this, Cyberfusion is not your ideal workplace.
- You must enjoy continuously working on a variety of new challenges. If you find this difficult and prefer to work with what you already know, Cyberfusion will not suit you.
- Most importantly: you believe in the Cyberfusion WebOps platform.
The honest answer: it depends. If you are just starting out at Cyberfusion, we understand the importance of you being in the office more often. Been working with us for a long time, though, and want to work completely remotely temporarily? We are flexible — depending on your specific situation.
We find it strange if this depends on someone's salary - as is the case with some other employers. That is why we have chosen to standardize this: every vacation day has a value of € 250, taken from your choice budget.
This can be arranged if desired.
Because we are a small team, you can expect a lot of direct feedback (both positive and constructive).
In addition, we schedule periodic appointments to discuss your development and feedback at a higher level. How often this happens largely depends on your own preference (for example once a month, or once every three months).
Inherent to Cyberfusion is that you continuously learn on-the-job. But sometimes you just want more. That is why you have an annual training budget of at least € 1,500 to spend freely. Want to work on specific soft skills, or more on your technical skills? As long as it helps you do your work even better. Sometimes, we make suggestions, although the ball is in your court by default. Need help determining how to best use your training budget? Feel free to ask.
Sometimes, that budget is not sufficient for what you want to do. In that case, you can choose to tap into your choice budget (see specific vacancy).
However you would like to develop yourself, this falls within working hours.
Agreements can be made about this in consultation.
Our ambition is to become the largest WebOps platform for web professionals in Europe. To realise that ambition, we expect to expand with some bright minds in the coming year. If our strategy is successful, our team will grow even faster.
However practice will turn out to be: we only grow as soon as we can handle it, to avoid growing pains. For example, we will always eliminate 'tech debt' before building new features.
In addition, we promise that you can continue to do what you want. Whether that means focusing completely on execution, or, for example, training and guiding colleagues as well.
William founded Cyberfusion in his teens. Entrepreneurship is in his blood; this is also evident from how successful Cyberfusion has become in a short time. He also worked at several large hosting companies at a young age.
William belongs to the group of entrepreneurs who really invest in the long term. For example, he only embarks on new adventures - such as new features and expanding the team - when the basics are in order. You will therefore find little 'technical debt' at Cyberfusion. Something that is not self-evident everywhere. For example, in the past, he chose to postpone building new features for 3 months to automate processes that had unconsciously become extremely complex. Thanks to this long-term vision, Cyberfusion can grow while continuing to offer the highest quality.
Your first day is always at the office. We will discuss the time for you to be there. It will mainly be a day with set-up and explanation of the different systems. We will then look together at what you are going to work on in general, and where best to start.
Before you start, you will receive an extensive email with more information about this.
We hope that during this month you will show that you fit Cyberfusion's core values and mentality. If you show that you are thorough, reliable and learn quickly, you will get through the first month smoothly.
